Erin Ma, DMD, MS
Orthodontics is not only a profession; it gives me a sense of purpose and a way of giving back to the community. It allows me to engage with people of all walks of life and experience diversity and open mindedness. The ability to smile freely and with confidence is a gift I want all my patients to receive.
I underwent orthodontic treatment myself and it changed my life! I decided it was the right career path for me. I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta. During this time, I completed a double major in biological and physical sciences and graduated with honors. Subsequently, I moved to Florida where I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. After graduating from dental school, I attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where I earned both my Master of Science in oral biology and my certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
It is imperative for me to keep up with new knowledge of industry standards in order to maintain good patient care. I stay updated with current literature and methods of treatment, and am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and California Dental Association.
I grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and have lived in downtown LA for the past few years. Here, I enjoy exploring new types of food, cooking, and hiking with my Alaskan Klee Kai, Mika. I am also fascinated with current tech news and Space X!
